RANDWICK.

T H E Church is small, consists of a Chancel, Nave, and South Aisle, with a Gallery over the West End, and over the South Aisle. It has a low Tower at the West End, with Battlements; therein four Bells.

BENEFACTIONS TO THIS PARISH

Anno 1627.-William BENNET, of this Parish, gave 3 pounds. per Annum to the Curate, and Poor for ever.
Anno 1630.-Thomas BENNET, of this Parish, Gent gave 5 shillings. per Annum to the Curate, and Poor for ever.
Anno 1706.-Thomas VOBES, of Standish, gave, after the decease of his Brother's Wife, a House, and 3 Acres of Land, for ever, the income of which to pay for the teaching of three poor hays to write.
Anno 171 7.-John MILLS, of .Bisley, Gent. gave 2 pounds. 10 shillings. per Annum for ever, to buy Linen Cloth for the poor, at the discresion of the Overseers, &c.
Anno 1719.-Richard Cambridge, Merchant, within the City of London, gave 50pounds towards founding a Charity School, to teach poor Children to read, &c.
Anno 1724.-William BENNET of the Parish of Stonehouse, Gent, gave a Silver Cup, for the use of the Communion
Anno 1728.-Mrs. Ann HAWKER, of Wallbridge Widow, gave 20 pounds to the Charity School.
Anno 1731.-Thomas CHANDLER, late of Kings Stanley, Clothier, gave 150 pounds two thirds to the Poor, and one third to the Parson for ever.
Anno 1761.-Mrs. Elizabeth BENNET gave 30 pounds the profits to be paid for ever at Christmas Day, by her Executors to 30 poor families.
The Revd. Mr. Thomas Rawlins, B. A. and Minister of the Church, gave towards building
The New Isle 15. 0. 0.
Gave the Canopy 1. 10. 0.
Gave towards the Branch Candlesticks 5. 5. 0.
Gave in part of the two hundred pounds, in order to obtain ye late Queen's Bounty 10. 0. 0.

Mr. Robert Ellis, of Ebly, gave 100pounds to purchase Lands. Half of ye Income he left to ye Master of the Charity School the other 1/2 the Minister, on condition of his preaching twice every Sunday; if otherwise the whole goes to the Master of the School

Note. With the above 100pounds and 25 pounds private Contribution to the School, were purchased two enclosures on Randwick Hill, and one Acre in the Fields. So three fifths of the Income are due to the Master of the School, and two fifths to the Minister, on the above Condition, 1762.
